Customer lauds Hical effort

We implemented the Quality Clinic in compliance with the requirements of UTC. That is a great benefit for us and the Clinic will further strengthen our quality system. While we were being grateful to UTC for the opportunity to implement the Clinic, they sprang a surprise on us by giving us an award recognizing the implementation. Such is our fortune: we work with the world's best companies, with truly wonderful people.

ISO 14001

We're almost there. Our good factory got much better with the changes ISO 14001 brought in, thanks to our preparations during this run-up. How much better we'll look when we are certified! But the audit is in April, and because we're so well prepared, we're waiting impatiently. Mother Nature, are we doing okay?

ELCOMP India-2007

AS-9100 Certificate

We received the AS-9100 Certificate from UL. We are spending the six months until October stabilizing it.

From October, we start a new initiative: to win ISO 14000.

AS 9100: got it!

We further consolidated our hi-rel business. After beginning work for two global aerospace companies, on Friday 13th April, we completed the certification process for the aerospace Quality System—AS 9100—with a score of 77%. We're now recommended for certification to UL-USA, and we'll tell you when the certificate arrives. Thank you, dear customers, for encouraging us to go for it.

Aero-Show India

We had a good participation at the Aero-Show India 2007.

Electronica, finally…

We had an excellent participation. Customers—we work for the best companies in the world—spoke of their plans and our role in them. We generated many new prospects; and we shared Hical's growth plans with our supplier-partners. Everyone was optimistic about the future. We thank all who visited us.

Ready for Electronica

In two weeks we will be on show at Electronica 2006. The materials are shipped and preparations are almost through. The calendar is filling up, so the excitement that India holds as a new destination might be resonating in Munich. We are in the same spot in the same hall as before: Hall B6, number 432. Five of us from Hical will man the booth. Butterflies in the stomach; high anticipation; high expectations!

Lean Manufacturing @ Hical

This week, we kick-started our Lean Manufacturing program. Our good fortune is that our customer—a global leader from the US who is also a much-quoted practitioner of Lean Manufacturing—is our coach. The lead coach is an excellent sensei from their company. A large team from Hical is internalizing the knowledge. We have promised the customer that we will be eager students and ardent practioners—a promise we will keep. The knowledge we gain, we will use for all our customers.

Electronica 2006

We will be at Electronica 2006, Munich. Our EMS and Magnetics capabilities will both be on show. EMS has gained excellent traction at Hical, and top multinational customers from Europe and USA have begun to manufacture their products at Hical. That will be the new product range on offer compared against the last participation. Aerospace is the new segment in Magnetics for Hical, and we have greatly enhanced capabilities to accomodate this challenging segment. Electronica is the greatest electronics show on Earth, so we are looking to some excellent contact generation there.
